Programming |

The
Woodbridge Community Youth Center provides a mix of Academics,
Athletics and Arts services to Detroit youth ages 5-15 Monday -
Thursday each week during the regular school year. On Fridays we
conduct our Leadership Academy which is a rich curriculum based
program designed to enhance critical thinking, independent skills
and introduce the importance of youth governance for ages 10-15,
specifically.

With more and more parents in the workforce, the demand for
high quality after schools programs is ever increasing. Our
reputation for excellence is spurring a greater demand for our
programs and services. We are continually adding more schools,
and growing by referral, word of mouth and professional
recommendations. |

Our Presence |
|
Currently, WCYC serves students from 10 various schools
surrounding the Woodbridge, Midtown, New Center and Cork town
areas in Detroit. You have the convenience of downloading the
registration form online and submitting it via fax or in
person. We provide transportation as an option from 8 of the
neighboring schools. |
|
Program Timings and Fees |
|
Our after school programs begin promptly at 3:00pm Mon – Thurs
and end at 6:00pm. Friday classes are scheduled from 2:00pm –
6:00pm. Our registration fee which covers the school year is
only $20. and our monthly membership fee is only $20.00 per
child. We try to make sure our services are affordable to
every family in the community. Transportation is an added
service and can be assigned for $10.00 per week. |

Enrichment Program Components: |

Archery, Culinary Arts, Arts & Crafts, Drama, Etiquette, Game
Room, Life Skills, Leadership Academy, Computer Club, Various
Sports Training (Baseball, Basketball, Flag Football, Girls
Volleyball, Soccer) and Video Production. |

Highly Qualified and screened Staff |
|
All of our instructors and staff are screened and must meet
certain clearance guidelines pertaining to State reference
checks. Most of our staff also hold degrees or certifications
in their respective field of training. Several of our staff
and volunteers have been with us for 7 or 8 years. |
